Located right off of the Mountain Loop Highway, Esswine Campground is an ideal choice for large gatherings of family and friends looking for an overnight in this area. This campground is ideally situated for angling, and you will also be close to area hikes and waterfalls. While the individual sites in neighboring Boardman Creek Group Campground may provide slightly more privacy, each site in this campground has ample room and is arranged to make maximum shared use of the intimate space. The campground is situated between the highway and the river, so while you may hear some traffic noise, it is mostly absorbed by the sound of the South Fork Stillaguamish River. This is a fairly straightforward campground without many amenities. You'll have fire pits, picnic tables, and elevated tent pads in the designated areas, and one vault toilet serves the campground. Don't forget to bring your own water and firewood.
Esswine Campground is generally open from mid-May through the beginning of September.
