This little resort located on Makah Bay at the mouth of the Waatch River is a great option for accommodations if you are spending some time in the northwest portion of the Olympic Peninsula. Beach access is easy and close, and if you are up for a longer adventure, the resort is a short drive from hikes to Shi Shi Beach, Point of the Arches, and Cape Flattery. If you are staying closer to home and enjoying Hobuck Beach, you can rent surfboards, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, and bikes from the resort.
The Hobuck Beach Resort and Campground is divided between a tent and cabin area to the north and an RV area to the south. The tent area is really just an open meadow without specified sites; you can drive right into the meadow to find a spot and claim it for your own. Some sites are nearer to the beach and to trees. There is a bathhouse with free showers, but portable toilets are the only option for bathrooms in the camping area. The RV area consists of 10 full-hookup sites with picnic tables. Like the camping sites, these are all first-come, first-served spaces, and all have better views of the ocean.
Cabins are also available and come in a variety of options and price ranges. All include kitchenettes, private baths, and a basic bed and television arrangement; price variation depends on the size of the cabin and the views that you get to enjoy from the attached deck. Pet-friendly options are available. Reservations are strongly recommended in the summer season.
