The only year-round campground in Lassen Volcanic National Park, the Southwest Walk-in Campground is located next to the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center at the park’s southern entrance. The basic campground provides vault toilets with potable water available onsite from May through October. For offseason and winter campers, heated restrooms and potable water are available in the vestibule of the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center a short walk away.

The campground is for tents only, but it is within a stone’s throw of the parking lot. RVs and trailers are permitted to park in the lot overnight; camping fees still apply. Winter camping is welcomed.

The campground is near to many of the park’s southern hiking trails, and it is 7 miles down Lassen Park Road from the Lassen Peak Summer Trail. The trail to Mill Creek Falls begins at the campground.
