Cenote Agua Dulce

Cenote Agua Dulce, along with Cenote Palomitas, is one of the picturesque cenotes operated out of this property on the outskirts of the Valladolid area. Cenote Agua Dulce is a large cave with cerulean-blue waters with two entrances.

The main entrance follows a wide walkway and stairs leading to a wide platform with benches. The other is harder to find, but it descends a narrow spiral staircase that leads to a small platform near the center of the cenote. A couple small openings in the ceiling allow sunlight to illuminate the water and limestone walls. A landscaped waterfall adds another surreal element to the experience.

Aqua Dulce seems to get fewer visitors than nearby Cenote Palomitas, likely because it is a slightly longer walk to reach. And while the water is cool, it is comfortable given the humid jungle air.

A restaurant and bar sits on the property between the reception building and the cenote. Life jackets are available for rent at the reception desk. There are no lifeguards on duty here. Cenote Agua Dulce is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is MX$100 per person.
