Mayflower Mayan Ruins

The Mayflower Mayan Ruins Site sits about 100 feet away from the Mayflower Bocawina National Park Visitor Center. Believed to have been occupied from late A.D. 800 to early 900, the site contains 11 structures and, aside from a few test-diggings sites, remains mostly unimproved. A few signs scattered throughout the site offer information to visitors.

Pottery shards and tools have been found amongst other artifacts at the site, and some remain on display in the park visitor center. There are two large pyramid mounds along with several smaller structures. Currently, the Tau Witz Trail and Bird Trail routes continue through the Mayflower site. Water, bathrooms and information are available at the nearby park visitor center.
