Cape Perpetua Campground

Cape Perpetua Campground is strung out along Cape Creek a short distance from the Pacific Ocean. It is an ideal staging ground for extended exploration of the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, which includes a visitor center, a stunning coastal trail, miles of hiking up steep ridges to the east, the Cape Perpetua Giant Spruce, and the Saint Perpetua Trail. Mountain biking is also allowed on the nearby Cummins Creek Trail.

Almost all of the campsites are on the creek, though most of them are right along the road and offer little to no privacy. There is a group site that has a covered shelter and a small field. The Cape Perpetua Giant Spruce is a short hike from the upstream end of the campground and is a must-see for anyone in the area. Reservations are available and necessary during the summer season, when the campground is almost always full. There are a handful of more private sites that are situated below the road, right on the creek. If you are lucky enough to get one of these sites, a stay at Cape Perpetua Campground is a perfect way to access all the wild beauty available to those willing to spend a few days exploring this truly exceptional section of the Oregon Coast.

Note: Cape Perpetua Campground is open roughly May 16 through September 22 with reservations permitted between May 16 and September 1. Open dates may vary slightly year to year due to weather conditions and funding.

Cape Perpetua is part of the Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve and Marine Protected Areas. This means that there are specific prohibitions against fishing and the harvesting of fish, invertebrates, and seaweed.
