Bonneville Shoreline Trail: Hidden Valley to Corner Canyon

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail, or BST for short, gives Salt Lake riders a ton of options along the Wasatch Front. One of the easiest ways to access a fun ride is by starting out at Hidden Valley Park just off Wasatch Boulevard in the town of Draper. Head south on the paved trail and take a left onto the dirt singletrack that heads up the mountain face.

Before long you will have to get off your bike to make your way down a set of wood and dirt stairs, across a tiny wooden bridge, and up a very rocky section. This is the first of three times you will need to get off your bike, which does mess up the flow on this otherwise fun ride. Much of the northern half of the trail is rocky, but it gets quite smooth in the southern half. The second time you'll need to get off your bike is a super tight section of rocks that can barely fit a person.

Once you reach the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge, you will need to cross it on foot for the final dismount. Past the bridge the singletrack gets very clean and smooth and allows you to enjoy some unbroken fun. Three and a half miles from the beginning of the ride, you will reach Corner Canyon's northern parking lot. This is a common spot to turn around, but you can also go ride some of the many trails of the vast Corner Canyon trail network. This is not the most stellar trail because of the three times you have to get off your bike, but it's not as busy as many of the other nearby trails and is fun enough to try.
