Essential! Without question, we carry these micro fiber travel towels with us for any outdoor outing that involves water. They pack incredibly small and add a negligible amount of weight in a pack (the smallest of these towels weighs in at just 1.5 ounces).
While carrying them for beach, hot springs, and river trips may be obvious, these have come in useful on days when the weather turns bad, or letting us wipe moisture off of our camera gear or snowshoes after a day on the trails.
Each towel comes with a loop of fabric for quick and easy hanging, though our preferred method for quick drying tends to be just throwing them over the car seat headrest as we drive to our next destination.
These towels are quick-drying, owing to the synthetic materials they're made of. These towels will go from being completely saturated to dry in 90 minutes. Each towel comes with a fabric loop for easy hanging. In all of our use, we've never experienced any ripping, tearing, or shredding. This includes laying out on sharp granite boulders and generally not being easy on them.

The only downside, in our opinion, is that the lightweight build of the towels make them a little too thin to really lay out comfortably on top of a rough surface. But the trade off is the fact that these can travel anywhere and tend to be useful for more than just drying off after a swim or on a humid day.
