Gulpha Gorge is a basic campground serving Hot Springs National Park. Sites are fairly close together, which makes for limited privacy. On the plus side, many of the trails in the park begin at or are accessible from the campground. For day use, there is a nice picnic ground.
There are 44 sites, all manageable for RVs. All sites have 30/50 amp service along with electric and sewer. Given that there are hookups, the campground is popular with big rigs. All sites have a picnic table and grill. There is a nice bathhouse with restrooms, but no showers. However, being so close to the historic Bathhouse Row, the showers aren’t really missed!
There are no reservations and the campground is usually full on weekends. There is a 14-day limit, which is enforced by the campground host, and the campground is open all year. All sites are $30 per night.
Gulpha Creek runs along the back of the campground, the best spots are the ones that back up to the creek. The amphitheater is at the end of the loops by site 20. Most importantly, there is a series of hiking trails taking off from the campground amphitheater including an easy 1.5-mile one-way hike to the historic bathhouses via the Gulpha and Dead Chief Trail.
