You are here
Ask anyone who's ever met me, and they'll likely tell you that I have a flannel-tastic wardrobe. But seriously, I love flannels - especially when I get to wear it to work, to the mountain, up and down the mountain, and everywhere else in-between. I will even go as far as to call myself a flannel expert, and often impress my peers with my extensive knowledge and overall expertise around the flannel market. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration - but I do have full confidence in my ability to put together a really good list of 14 women's flannel shirts that are perfect for this holiday season. Enjoy, flannel fiends!
Backcountry Meadow
There's no way around it: Backcountry.com has recently launched a new clothing and gear line of their own, and I am falling for it all. Especially this flannel button-down that checks all of my boxes.
KAVU Billie Jean
This top is both flattering and full of hints of flare, and I love the touches of detail that give it some personality to go with it's overall coziness. I think I like the green color the most, but honestly I wouln't mind having all three colors in my closet.
Eddie Bauer Stine - Heather
Sometimes I have the itch for some flannel fashion, but without the plaid. Enter the Stine - Heather long sleeve, my go-to for a cleaner presentation without compromising on the softness.
Toad & Co Indigo Skye
And don't get me started on the Indigo Skye Flannel, one of my all-time favorites in the category. Not only does it come in cool patterns and colors - stripes, please! - but true to Toad & Co's values, it is also 100% organic.
Vermont Flannel Fitted
Being a Vermont native, this list wouldn't be complete without one of these bad boys ranking in. Some of the best patterns and color combinations in the game, Vermont Flannel also offers on-point shape options like the Fitted - my favorite!
Woolrich Quinella - Jacquard
Sometimes it's nice to dress things up a bit and get fancy, and that's when I pull out my Quinella in the jacquard print. I've always been drawn to the darker hues, but each of the three color options offered would be a welcome gift....hint hint, nudge nudge.
Moosejaw Hemlock
I recently had the good fortune of running into the Moosejaw crew in their new shop-on-wheels down in Utah, and I was able to check out this flannel in person. Fit, form, and function - all wrapped up into a wonderful flannel package.
Fjallraven Canada Shirt
This top comes in at the high end of the budget, but for those looking for a high-quality, thick, and durable flannel that will live on for years, the Canada Shirt is for you. No frills, just flannel.
Mountain Khakis Christi - Fleece-lined
I might not take this one on the skintrack with me, but you can bet that the Christi is the first thing I put on before AND after a long day of backcountry fun. Because everything is better when it's lined with fleece.
Stio Dovetail Cabin
Everything made by this Jackson Hole company is on my wish list, but the Dovetail Cabin is by far my favorite Stio staple. Somehow it shows off my shape while I feel like I'm wearing a cloud of flannel, and in my book that earns an A+.
Prana Charley
I almost always shy away from snaps on my shirts, but I make an exception for the Charley. Fun colors, nice fit, cozy for days, and can you say pockets??
Flylow Brigitte Tech
Tech flannels for the win, and Flylow nails it with the Brigitte. The long fit is comfortable and slimming, and this top will make every adventure - from ski laps to coffee runs - so much better.
L.L. Bean Scotch Plaid - Slightly Fitted
An East Coaster at heart, I can't let you leave before throwing an L.L. Bean Scotch Plaid in here. A classic top that seemingly lasts forever (or at least a few good seasons) and is reminiscent of New England through and through.
Dakine Noella Tech
One more tech piece to round it all out. The Noella is first and foremost my grab-and-go flannel for bike shuttles and beers. Luckily, it doubles as a pretty great winter layer as well - and I can't stop drooling over this Ginger color.
