The Spring Creek Trail is a popular and unmarked trail beginning on the northwest side of Edwards Crossing bridge that leads to a 20-foot tall waterfall.

The trail passes several pools and rocky areas along the South Yuba, and though it only travels a short distance, it is a relatively technical trail owing to all of the roots and slick steep areas that the path passes. Eventually, the trail drops down to a wide flat area where the year-round flow of Spring Creek falls over stone ledges into a pool before ultimately running into the river.

The area is scenic, and the Yuba alternates between rapids and slow-moving pools around here, making the rocky shores of the river a popular place for swimming and hanging out. As such, summer weekends can get incredibly crowded here. And despite lying within state park jurisdiction with camping prohibited, hikers shouldn't be surprised to be forced to run the gauntlet between tents set up near some of the most scenic areas down here.

It's possible to head up Spring Creek and explore some of the small cascades along its forest route. Hikers should be aware of the poison oak that grows in abundance along this trail.

Parking is along the road immediately before reaching the bridge, and it can fill up quickly during summer. A vault toilet is the only amenity at the parking area. There is no cell service here.
