The Tibble Fork Loop Trail circles around and behind the reservoir by the same name, up nearby foothills to a large meadow to the southeast. Along this hike you see the crystal blue colors of the medium sized lake from above with sweeping views of large mountain peaks in all directions. An official trailhead is located just a bit northeast of the reservoir with a bridge that crosses the American Fork River. The trail can be heavily eroded in portions and a little boring at times, but there are several spots that are seriously beauty. A large meadow at the far end of the hike is lined with aspen and pine trees, and you might see deer or an occasional moose strolling by. The whole area is surrounded by peaks, including Box Elder Peak, a local favorite. There are multiple side routes that break off from the loop, and it can be a little tough to make sure you are still on track, but overall it is not dangerous if you wander off the track for a bit. While hikers can take the loop clockwise or counterclockwise, clockwise is recommended.

Dogs are allowed on this hike. There is a $6 fee to use American Fork Canyon if you don't have a national park pass. There are endless other hikes, lakes, waterfalls and rivers in the surrounding area.
