Lake D’Arbonne State Park is nestled in the hills of northern Louisiana just outside of Farmerville. This man-made lake was formed in 1963 and has been a favorite of locals and visitors alike. The state park offers a full range of amenities including camping, tennis courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, a swimming pool, pavilions, finishing, boating, and hiking and nature trails. There are four lighted tennis courts available for visitor use. The 18-hole disc golf course spans 1.7 miles over scenic trails through the rolling forested hills. Lake D’Arbonne is popular with the water sportsman, especially anglers. The state park has its own fishing pier and is home to bass, crappie, catfish and bream.

The boat launch is available year round. The state park provides rental boats, canoes and kayaks with paddles and life vests. Getting out on a paddle boat is a great way to get a glimpse of some of the local aquatic life. There is a boat dock conveniently located near the campground and a boat ramp located not far from the visitor center.

The hiking and nature trail system in Lake D’Arbonne State Park weaves in and around the entire state park for a total of 7 miles of trail system. The trails are also open to bicyclists for those who like to enjoy nature while on two wheels. Cypress Bend Trail offers good views of the lake as well as enchanted forests.

The campground includes 65 improved campsites, each of which include a paved RV pad, a tent pad, picnic table, fire ring and grill. The camping area also has a comfort station with showers, a laundromat and playground. Those who aren’t interested in “roughing it" can rent one of 16 two-bedroom cabins that the park offers.

Other nearby attractions include Chemin-A-Haut State Park, Poverty Point State Historic Site, and Lake Claiborne State Park.
