Point Wolfe Campground

Point Wolfe Campground is one of four front-country campgrounds in Fundy National Park on the Bay of Fundy. Each campground has its own special character, and Point Wolfe is a bit more out of the way than the others. Because you have to pass through a small covered bridge to get to the camping area, it is restricted to vehicles under 24 feet long. The campground has all the amenities you might expect, including electric and water hookups and washrooms with hot showers. There are also kitchen shelters for preparing and eating food in nasty weather and dishwashing stations with stainless steel sinks and hot running water.

There are 154 sites, 24 of which provide electric and water for RVs. The RV sites are very close together with not much shade, but they are fine if you are simply looking for a homebase for Bay of Fundy adventures. As for the rest of the sites, there’s a good mix of private, shaded sites, and a few open sites. Some of the sites are quite close together, but all of them have firepits and picnic tables. A few distinct camping options are worth mentioning:

o’TENTiks: These are hybrids between tents and cabins that providing luxurious amenities like electricity, a propane grill, lights, heat, a table and chairs, and beds for four people. There are o’TENTiks in Point Wolfe Campground, and they should be reserved as far in advance as you can manage.

The Goutte d’Ô: There is just one of these cool sleeping structures in the campground, and demand is high, so reserve early. There’s a sleeping hammock for a loft and a futon below. The outside area includes a deck and two Adirondack chairs.

One of the best perks of camping at Point Wolfe Campground is the proximity to awesome hiking trails. Several trailheads are located near the campground entrance, so if you don’t want to get in your car, you don’t have to. Notable trails include the Shiphaven Trail, Coppermine Trail, Matthews Head, and Point Wolfe Beach, which is an awesome spot to watch the famous Fundy tides as well as the sunrise.
