Grapevine Campground is located along the banks of the scenic Gila River. It is actually right here that the East, West and Middle Forks of the Gila River come together. There are numerous recreational activities nearby, including hiking and fishing along the Gila, and exploring the nearby Gila Cliff Dwellings.

Grapevine Campground is named for an actual old grapevine that can still be seen today. There are a total of 20 “primitive” campsites here. Camping is free. Please be mindful of the 14 day camping limit.

All campsites at Grapevine are first come, first served. The campground doesn’t have much for amenities, not even picnic tables. There are however vault toilets available on site.

Note that the Forest Service cautions long vehicles because of the steep downgrade road into campground.

Doc Campbell’s Post (4 miles up the road) has a small selection of camping supplies and groceries.
