Eventually the hike drops down into the lower canyon system, a veritable playground of canyons, interesting rock formations, washes, and boundless exploration.
Snow Canyon's slot canyon is located on the Petroglyph Loop, so named because of the numerous petroglyphs that can be found etched into the canyon walls. Please be respectful of these historic artifacts and do not touch them in any way.
A narrow canyon normally accessible, but this time utterly blocked for anyone not wanting to get their entire bottom half soaked by the pool formed by recent rain.
Eventually, you'll hit the bottom of the canyon system and the rest of the hike meanders through flatter terrain that consists of canyons, washes, and easier-to-follow trails.
Any time of day in the desert is spectacular, but if you can time the end of your hike near sunset (without getting back after dark), the views are worth it.
If you choose to follow your trail back out, it's worth it to take a little extra time to remember your route on the way in so that it is easier on the way out.
