    The ultimate adventure guide

After parking along the dirt road, hike along the gravel or cross-country up Union Wash.
Pick your poison - an area where the ridge is not too steep - and start climbing.
The ridge continues northeast before turning to ascend north for the final 2,000 feet.
Once on top of the ridge, the terrain levels a bit, and you'll be greeted by harder-packed scree.
Desert shrubs and the odd cactus are the only life around.
Continue ascending to Forgotten Point, which might be a good spot to take lunch at 8,395 feet elevation.
After Forgotten Point the ridge veers left, and you get a panoramic view of Keynot Peak. Scree loosens up between 9,500 and 10,500 feet, so get ready to scramble and take lots of small breaks!
At the summit you'll have stunning vistas of Mount Whitney, Mount Langley, Mount Williamson, and dozens of other famous California peaks.
If you aren't continuing on to Bedford Saddle and Mount Inyo, scree ski down the way you came and hie out along the ridge.
