The ultimate adventure guide
Parking can be found along Tioga Pass Road anywhere between Ellery Lake and the eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park.
The summit is not immediately visible from the road. Instead, the route initially climbs to a prominent bench due east of the road.
Besides skiers and snowboarders, many also use snowshoes and crampons to hike to the summit.
From the crest of the bench, the summit becomes clearly visible.
The summit offers 360-degree views of the surrounding area, including a clear view of neighboring Mono Lake.
Dana Couloir drops down from the summit ridge to the Dana Glacier.
Though straightforward, snow conditions in the couloir can be variable.
