The Colorado Boy mine is part of the Red Mountain mining district.

Ironton had about 1,000 residents at one time.
The towering San Juans surround the town site.
A few of the buildings at Ironton are pretty well preserved.
Heading up the road to Colorado Boy, this is also a good cross-country ski area.
Don't miss the one sign for the mine trail!
The mine is undergoing stabilization, but it is great to explore.
