    The trail starts out along the historic railroad bed, which means the path is wide and level.

    The Wilder Trail starts from the middle of the Mike Miller Park Loop and heads toward Hatfield Marine Science Center.
    Bridges and walkways are common along the loop.
    The Emery Trail connects with Mike Miller Educational Trail.
    A steep section of trail carves through dense coastal forest.
    The pond is a wonderful spot to watch for birds.
