Slough Creek is known for its wildlife inhabitants, especially its famous, but hard-to-catch, cutthroat trout. Pictured here is the first meadow on Slough Creek.
The Slough Creek Trail runs from the loop to its boundary with the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. The mountains here are just outside of the park boundary in the Wilderness.
Hikers and horseback riders heading to Yellowstone's northern park boundary can see and hear a large seasonal waterfall running off the cliffs of Anderson Ridge.
