Many sections of trail are overgrown with dense foliage. None of these plants are poisonous to touch, but be mindful of the vegetation as much as possible.

Volcán Atitlan (right) and Volcán San Pedro (left) rise sharply from the shoreline. For more ambitious hikers who are able to do a two-day trek, these are also climbable.

El Cafe Sabor Cruceno is located inside the Centro de Capacitacion (not to be confused decapitation for the worried traveler!). Take a hard left here and go left around the basketball court to find the right path.

It might feel a little intrusive hiking in such close quarters to these houses, but shortly after this passage you’ll feel far away from civilization.
