    The ultimate adventure guide

Ascending up Chief Mountain here in Colorado. Despite the sun, the shade had lots of ice to navigate. Thankfully the pack rides, comfortably with thick shoulder straps and a minimal but comfortable waist band (that can be removed).

A giant front shove-it pocket is bomber and super convenient to use.

There are two side pockets. One is mesh with a layer of Cordura fabric down the middle for strength, and the other is full Cordura fabric. Both are sized to fit a tripod or even a pair of crampons without issue!

Rocky Mountain high! My biggest complaint about this pack is the lid. It simply will not stay put or firmly attached the way I prefer. Notice it is unattached and drooping in this photo.

Behind the front shove-it pocket is a giant zippered flap that opens to the main compartment for easy access to things toward the bottom of the pack. The flap includes water resistant pockets for your accessories.

Another shot of the zipper flap opened up. Mountainsmith sells these camera cubes designed to fit in the Tanuck.

Despite the outer fabric being an understated black color, the inside is a bright yellow, which is a nice touch.

This pack is not lightweight, but it is designed to last. These zippers are huge and they slide easily without getting caught. They look like they will survive for years to come.

Zippers slide quickly and easily along the main compartment flap.

Taking in the views! This pack is comfortable, which I appreciate as a photographer.

The all black exterior does not draw attention to itself.

Three options to attach the lid, none of which ever seem to truly keep it on.

D-ring on the backpack strap. You can attach the lid here to carry your camera in front of you as you move. It just makes taking your pack off a bit of a pain.

Weather resistant accessory pockets inside the lid.

This pack is designed to stand up on its own. There is nothing in the pack in this photo, it stands with a strong lean. I tried bending the rand a bit, but it stands better when packed with gear.
