On any given summer day you’ll see climbers dotted up the four pitches of the trad route, Toto (the large left rock structure), just across the river from the parking area looming above the Diamond South bouldering area.

The endless talus fields of Fairangel. If you look really closely toward the edge of the rocks you can see a tiny climber blending in with all these monolithic boulders.

The approach through the valley can be treacherous, with deep holes waiting to break ankles hidden beneath deep patches of slick moss. Always be careful!

The far end of Fairangel offers some excellent camping ground along Archangel Creek. Soak in the solitude and gaze up at the awe-inspiring pinnacle (the highest rock point) and dream of doing the link-up to its summit.

The Long Dark (V13) is one of Archangel's newest and hardest lines sent to date. A first ascent was finally achieved by the pictured climber in October, 2018. Contributor Amber McDaniel spots and keeps him from falling into a treacherous hidden hole.

Even after all the climbing is done for the day, exploratory sunset hikes are always a favorite activity in Hatcher Pass.
