Looking up toward the ridge. This angle hides how large Ossa's first two peaks appear.

This photo is a good one to study. The route follows beneath, and you can make out a few cairns. Definitely one to bring along to mark your trail.

Ossa's first peak in the foreground. You can just make out the buttress in the middle, where there is little snow.

There will be a couple of rocky steps here, but they are often in corners, which reduces the feeling of exposure.

The scrambling here requires good footwork and offers solid holds.

A few spots might require a bit of traversing to find the easiest route.

Toward the top the route gets a fair bit steeper with some rocky blocks to move through.

Topping out on the first peak is pretty snowy.

The ridge is flat for a while and goes a fair ways before reaching the base of the second peak.

The second, true peak is more bouldering, and it requires less scrambling at first.

The crux downclimb. It is much easier than it looks here. The angle is maybe 35 degrees with very little exposure and plenty of foot holds.

The trickier part is getting down into the gulley. Snow, scree, and some loose rock make this a little harder. It is also more exposed with a big drop behind.

Leave the glacial plain in low light is the cost of starting late in the day.
