Here, go right up the hill, the sign for Zigzag Mountain Trail is on the tree, up the trail in this picture.
This is the sign I was looking at when I missed the trail... and it actually says "To Zigzag mountain"... some of the other maps don't have this marked.
A few small snow fields to cross, just look for the dirt path across the snow to find the trail.
