Skeeter’s Ice Rink is a brand new addition to the Steamboat Square as of this winter season. Visitors can relax and enjoy skating on the rink after a day on the ski slopes. The rink is open daily during the winter and is free to the public.

The rink is named after Gladys Werner (aka Skeeter) who started the Steamboat Ski School and eventually went on to be inducted into the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame.

The rink is open from 12:00pm - 6:00pm Monday through Wednesday, and from 12:00pm - 8:00pm Thursday through Sunday. As mentioned above the rink is free to use. Skate rentals are also available, but they’ll cost you a pretty penny at $20 per hour.

There are also some “drink rails” around the rink where spectators can enjoy a beverage and watch the action without getting out on the ice themselves.
