Quail Lake is a small lake located in Colorado Springs. The Quail Lake Loop is a short trail that travels around the lake. This loop is 1.1 miles long and gains 101 feet of elevation.

This hike starts from the Quail Lake parking area on the corner of Cheyenne Mountain Blvd and Quail Lake Rd. There are portable toilets available here. Begin hiking towards the lake. Once you encounter the wide dirt trail, turn right to take the loop counterclockwise. After 0.1 miles, you will pass a boat ramp. As you continue hiking, you will have views of the lake and the mountains of the Front Range in the distance. Another 0.1 miles will bring you to a fishing pier. Continue along the tree-lined trail. After another 0.1 miles, the trail begins to parallel the Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. This lasts for 0.2 miles until you reach another parking area.

Here, you will also pass a playground, basketball court, and a bathroom on the west end of the lake. After another 0.1 miles, the trail will travel along the south shore of Quail Lake. You will pass multiple benches that provide a good place to enjoy the sights and rest. Continue hiking along the south shore of the lake for 0.2 miles, Then the trail will head north and parallel Quail Lake Rd. Here, you will have a great view of Quail Lake and various mountains in the distance. Another 0.2 miles on the trail will lead you back to the parking area.

Quail Lake Park is open for hiking year round. There are no associated fees to hike here. Dogs are allowed on this trail, but they must be on a leash at all times. It is also likely to encounter people fishing along the shore of Quail Lake
