Just outside of Halfmoon Bay along British Columbia's Sunshine Coast is the Homesite Creek Campground and Recreation Site, a quiet wooded area with plenty of natural beauty and activities to keep any outdoor enthusiast happy. The campsites were built along the creek, so most of the sites enjoy direct access to the many waterfalls.

There are three or four beautiful waterfall viewpoints from the campground and more hiking and biking trails that follow the creek further upstream. Below the campground are more trails that follow the creek and venture through the thick, lush West Coast forest. Along these trails are a network of secret hidden caves that are also fun to explore. In close vicinity to the campground is Halfmoon Bay Harbor, the start and finish point of the Suncoaster Trail and many kilometers of great mountain bike trails.

The campground itself has 26 single sites, five large sites, and one group site. There are plans for additional sites to be developed in the 2016 summer season. There are pit toilets spread around the campground as well as water spigots for washing. For a small fee, garbage is cleared and chopped wood is left for you. Each site has a fire ring, a picnic table, and there is ample room for parking and tents in these fairly private sites. With all the nearby activities and beauty surrounding this campground, Homsite Creek Campground is a great choice for anyone exploring the area.

We went by there last week and found that the campground is closed. Apparently it closed last year for sanitary reasons
