Bridge Bay Campground is an excellent place to set up a base and explore Yellowstone National Park. Located at over 7,800 feet of elevation on Yellowstone Lake, it offers access to all areas of the park, while being close to stores, a visitor center, showers, and laundry facilities.
The campground has over 400 campsites and accommodates RVs, although it does not have hookups. There are open and wooded sites, and they all include a picnic table and a fire pit. Some sites are not level, however, so if this is an issue, check with the campground authorities before making a reservation. The campground is divided in loops that have two buildings with well kept facilities that include flush toilets and a dishwashing station.
Park rangers offer frequent talks at the campground amphitheater. They are highly interesting and provide visitors with information on the park's geological formation and its resident wildlife. These talks typically start at night after sunset.
The Bridge Bay Marina lies a few feet away from the campground and has outfitters that offer daily tours. The marina store has all the essentials campers might need, including firewood, and nearby Lake Village also has a store, a gas station, and a visitor center. Showers and laundry facilities are available at the Fishing Brook RV center, located only a few minutes away.
