Crandall Cove in Rockport State Park provides camping on the lakeshore and nice views over the water. Sites are fairly large and comfortable, but there is no privacy between them or from the road, and shade is scant to nonexistent. Each site has parking, a picnic shelter, table, grill, and fire ring. Some sites have raised tent platforms. There is one walk-in tent site that offers seclusion among trees next to the creek, but it does not have a shelter built over the picnic table. Other amenities include vault toilets and water faucets throughout the campground.
The group campground is a bit removed from the rest, but it is still very close to the road. It has a large parking area to itself, a picnic shelter, grill, fire ring, water faucet and vault toilet, all in an open field next to the creek and not far from the reservoir shoreline.
Note: Crandall Campground and Crandall Group Campground are open from May 1 through October 31. Pricing listed above is for individual sites, and Crandall Group Campground is $175 per night.
