Take an “escapation” where escape and vacation meet in the only recreation lake in the Oregon Coast Range. The beautiful Loon Lake off of the Umpqua River is surrounded by towering Douglas fir trees that provide wind protection, and the lake's calm waters are perfect for boating and fishing.
Perched up just above the lake, the Waterfront House is popular for family reunions, weddings, or just a simple weekend vacation. In total, the house sleeps up to 14 and has large stone fireplace in the living room with large picture windows and a queen size sofa bed. There are 2 bedrooms with king size beds and 2 baths. The house includes a fully furnished kitchen with a full size refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee pot and a long island counter for dining. Linens are included and satellite televisions are found in every room.
Note, the Waterfront House is closed during the winter months from November 1 until March 31.
A part of the Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort, which is open year-round, the lakeside complex offers numerous other accommodations and amenities, making this an excellent choice for families exploring the Umpqua River and Oregon Coast. Once you settle into your lodging at a cabin, cottage (most with full kitchens), yurt, RV or tent site, you are as close as a few steps from the one mile of Loon Lake Lodge shoreline. An on-site marina rents Sea-Doos, ski and fishing boats, pontoon boats, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and canoes, and even a 30-foot houseboat. The marina/boat dock and ramp are open to those staying at the Waterfront House, the resort, as well as the public.
