Lake View Campground is the more centrally-located of the two campgrounds inside Cave Lake State Park. Set just steps away from the park's day use areas and amenities at the edge of Cave Lake, Lake View also tends to be the busier of the two campgrounds.
Containing 18 sites, all of the individual sites are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, the large group site and the yurt site require reservations. Contact the park at 775.728.4467 or by emailing [email protected].
Each site has a picnic table, grill and fire pit. One large modern central bathroom with sinks, showers and flush toilets serves the campground, with spigots located around the campground that offer water seasonally. The campground is open year round, though conditional extremes may affect amenities and services. Sites are available for $15 per night. There is a seven-day camping limit per 30-day period. Site #30 is ADA friendly. A dump station is located outside of Elk Flat Campground.
While hiking, boating, fishing and swimming tend to be popular summer activities in the park, the area's cold winters can see activities switching over to cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing and skating on the frozen lake surface. The nearest groceries and amenities are located 15 miles away in Ely.
