Sam Houston Jones State Park has two campgrounds, Camping Area 1 and Camping Area 2, and they offer a variety of options to suit the needs of most campers. Both campgrounds are centrally located and within walking distance of most of the parks features and trails. With 57 total RV sites, 19 tent sites, and eight rental cabins, individual sites may sit near each other, but the areas do not feel over-crowded. Among RV sites there are general sites and different levels of premium sites that include a combination of pull-through slab and sewage features, and prices are fixed according to the extra options.
Camping Area 1 sits between a swamp and a pond and is adjacent to a boardwalk with a small elevated amphitheater. Both areas have heated bathroom buildings with showers and RV dump stations. Camping Area 2 has coin laundry and a playground area. Rental cabins include cinderblock structures that are ADA accessible and require a handicap permit to rent, prefab options, and a four-bedroom lodge.
Pets must be leashed at all times and are not permitted inside any park buildings or cabins. More information can be found here.
