Dockery Lake Campground is a quiet, secluded, and serene area nestled in a pocket between the mountains, and it is perfect for an overnight stay. The campground is accessed by a forest road that connects the main road to the campsite loop. Eleven sites are car accessible, each with a parking spot, and all locations have a tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring. Bear-proof trash cans are littered throughout the campground. Sites one through five are situated right on the lakeshore. The other sites are further away, but the water and restrooms are still easily accessible for all. In the winter, running water is turned off.

A gravel loop trail connects all of the sites and wraps around the lake. On the opposite side of the lake is an old dam with a stream flowing out of it and a small waterfall. Nearby, a patio overlooks the lake, and a 3.5-mile connector trail shoots off from there to connect to the Appalachian Trail.

Restrooms and potable water are available in the middle of the campsites. An ADA site and parking area is also situated in the middle, along with a set of vault toilets on the far end of the one-way road loop.

A day-use picnic area is located at the far end of the lake and makes a pleasant spot to eat lunch and bask in warm sunlight. Fall foliage here is brilliant, with green pine trees mixing with the brilliant reds and yellows of the forest's hard woods.
