This beachside campground is located on picturesque Meeks Bay, a popular day use beach and horseshoe-shaped bay on Tahoe's beautiful west shore. Nestled between Sugar Pine Point and D.L. Bliss State Parks, campers staying here have nearby access to all the west shore's recreation splendors. Meeks Bay itself has stunning crystal clear waters and offers incredibly easy transport for small boat and stand-up paddleboarders using the campground. There is also a small marina located a short walk away within Meeks Bay Resort and Marina to the north. Here you can find small boat and stand-up paddleboard rentals along with a boat launch and slips that are available for a fee.
Typically open between mid-May and mid-October, Meeks Bay Campground is on the small side compared with the state parks campgrounds nearby. Reservations are recommended for summer weekends and holidays. Sites nearest the water tend to be roomier and offer better views. Dogs are permitted in the campground.
