PROS: Quiet campsite (on a Sunday night though). Most campsites are lakeside. We tied up floaties and relaxed on the lake, which also had very little use in the area. Clear, calm water. Beautiful granite rocks. Campsites are large and shaded. Absolutely beautiful view of Glacier Point.
CONS: cars are elevated from campsites: a bit of a haul with gear... no luck fishing... numerous tree roots become tripping hazards at night (obviously)... and MOSQUITOES GALORE (June)!
Our capsite (1D) was fantastic and there were plenty of good ones but a few looked a bit lackluster. Also a lot of people use this campground to bring and launch their boats from so that can get a bit loud.
There is a short, half-mile trail up to Hidden Lake which was my favorite part of the trip. It felt like a secluded alpine lake and my two boys had no trouble with the hike.
Overall, really great site. I would highly recommend it over Icicle Creek unless you have a really large group.
