Hawthorne Group Campground

This campground is near the southern entrance to Rockport State Park. It is not on the river or the reservoir, but it is a short distance from both. The location may not be ideal, but it is good for large groups when the weather is nice. The road curves around and borders the site on three sides, but a large field provides plenty of room to spread out tents and vehicles. The only shade is under two large trees at the entrance to the campground, and the picnic shelter near them. Other amenities include picnic tables, vault toilets, water faucet, a grill, and a large fire ring.
