Juniper Point Day Use Picnic Area

One of many public recreation stops around the perimeter of Big Bear Lake, Juniper Point Picnic Area stands out because of its location between the lakeshore and a verdant marsh. There is a strip of beach and a shallow wading area in the lake. Trails and a boardwalks extend out into marsh, allowing for short nature hikes from the picnic area. This is part of the Alpine Pedal Path, a bicycle and pedestrian greenway that traverses a section of Big Bear's north shore. Taking the Pedal Path west across the marsh will soon put you in Meadows Edge Picnic Area, while traveling east eventually leads to East Public Boat Launch.

The picnic area has tables, grills, vault toilets, and trash cans. Fire restrictions are sometimes in effect, so be sure to heed posted regulations about charcoal and open flame in the grills. Juniper Point typically closes from December 1 to April 1, but it may close earlier due to winter weather. Call the Big Bear Discovery Center for current information at 909.382.2790.
