Nehalem Bay State Park

At the southern base of Neahkahnie Mountain and on a peninsula forming Nehalem Bay lies one of Oregon’s most popular and versatile state parks.  From here you can explore the 5.3 miles of sandy beach, crab and fish in Nehalem Bay, and look for wildlife. In addition, the park offers 1.7 miles of paved bike paths, picnic areas, horseback riding and rentals, and an airplane landing strip. With 265 campsites, Nehalem Bay State Park has an abundance of camping opportunities. But don't let the size lead to complacency; reservations and/or early arrivals are still essential in the busy summer season.

If you are spending time in the area, we recommend a short trip north to Manzanita to explore one of Oregon’s great oceanside communities.  You can also visit Oswald West State Park for numerous hiking and surfing opportunities.  Finally, try to catch Cannon Beach at low tide for exceptional marine life and bird viewing around the base of Haystack Rock.
