Ellen Brown Scripps Park is set in an ideal location. According to some sources, it's the most photographed site in San Diego thanks to its popularity as a wedding site. Located right in the heart of La Jolla along the coast, the park features a wide open field which allows for unobstructed views of the Pacific. Many amenities make the park perfect for a quick lunch break or for a longer stay. It's a great starting point for longer walks along the coast and visits to the Children's Pool, La Jolla Cove, or for just relaxing on one of the many picnic benches facing the ocean. There's little natural shelter, but some structures are strategically placed along the coast path. Alternately, you can take the staircase at the southern end of the park down to the beach. Seals and sea lions frequent the area, particularly in spring, so keep an eye out for them in addition to migrating whales, seabirds, and other land mammals such as the not-so-elusive ground squirrel.

Note: no glass is allowed in the park.
