Although there are many hot springs in Southeastern Oregon, only a handful are cool enough for soaking. Crystal Crane Hot Springs is one of these usable hot spots, and it has been commercialized so that visitors can soak in a large, outdoor communal pool or one of several private, enclosed tubs. The communal pool is large enough for swimming, and it is regulated at approximately 102 degrees. The fee for the outside hot springs is $3.50; this fee is waived for overnighters who take advantage of Crystal Crane’s accommodations. With RV hook-ups, tent sites, tepees with private tubs, cabins by the outside pool, and modest but cozy rooms across the gravel parking lot, there are options for every budget. Note that the private soaking tubs cost $7.50 per hour, per person regardless of your guest status.

Perks include complimentary coffee and wireless internet inside the Commons Room, a shared Camp Kitchen equipped with stove, microwave, refrigerator, sink, dishes and cookware, snacks for sale, maps, plenty of brochures about the area, and friendly staff. If possible, try timing your visit so that a sunset or sunrise can be enjoyed. The views of the sky are spectacular!

Note: Crystal Crane Hot Springs is open year-round. Call 541.493.2312 or visit their website for reservations and more details.
