Lost Creek Campground is a humble, 14-site campground at the base of Mount Hood's western slope.  Only a few miles from McNeil Campground, Lost Creek Campground is nestled beneath a tall coniferous forest, so the campsites receive less sun than those at McNeil.  The campground compensates for the lack of sun by providing improved facilities and outdoor amenities, including two rentable yurts, ADA accessible sites, barbeque grills, a fishing platform, well-maintained vault toilets, and a short, 0.5 mile interpretive trail.

While camping at Lost Creek, don't miss the hikes to Ramona Falls, Zig Zag Mountain, or Burnt Lake.

Note: The campground is closed October 1 through May 25.

Stayed here this weekend, quiet and surprisingly empty! Campground amenities are great and very close to both burnt lake and ramona falls trailheads. We hiked both! I would definitely recommend this campground to families, it's smaller and the interpretive trail is fully accessible.

Someone else mentioned the crows and I will too, they like our food a bit too much!

If you plan to hike to Burnt Lake, I'd definitely recommend this campground. Be sure to bring your own firewood! The camp host doesn't stay here, so unless you sync up with them right when you arrive, you should bring in your own wood so that you aren't just waiting around for check-in (wood is sold at the gas stations and stores on Highway 26).

We camped in B1, the walk-to site closest to the parking lot, which was very convenient for carrying our gear to the site. This campground was moderately private; you could definitely hear the campers around you, but there are so few sites that the whole area feels beautifully quiet and isolated. As another reviewer noted, the pit toilets do indeed smell like baby powder! I believe that there is water at this campground, too, but it's over in the RV section near campsite A9 and I had a little trouble finding it (the signage at the registration area was not very informative).

The campground is also super close to both the Burnt Lake Trail head and the Trail to Ramona Falls. Aside from a couple of minor inconveniences (which could be solved with better signage), this campground is great, and I'd for sure stay again.

I found this campground through Outdoor Project and I'm so thankful for it! First note, it's a good bit off the hwy, so if you think you've gone too far, you haven't - but this also means it is so peaceful and secluded. We had reserved walk on site B-5 which is at the end of the walk-in loop, but we explored the rest of the campground and I'd be surprised if any one site was any better or worse than the next. The sites are all large with plenty of trees for hammock hanging and staying cool. I was here June 28-July1 2017 and the campground was maybe 1/2 full. We continued on our adventure for another week and this was by far our most favorite campground of all! I can promise you that if fairies are real, they definitely live here at this campground - you'll see what I mean when you arrive - from the moss covered ground to the tiny little flowers and all the little enchanted charms nature has to offer. I almost didn't write a review to keep this spot hush hush - but that wouldn't been selfish! Do go!

PS: it should also be noted that the pit toilets smell like fresh powder and light perfume - don't know how they do it! Again, must be fairies!
