Built in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corp, Camp Creek Campground is a shady, relatively quiet, well-used campground nestled between US Highway 26 and the slowly babbling Camp Creek. Since it is only 6 miles from Mount Hood the campground is good for accessing numerous adventures, but the 19 campsites don’t have any truly unique qualities other than the several sites that are perfect for large groups (see recommended sites). If Camp Creek Campground is full, try Tollgate Campground just 2.4 miles further west, or Green Canyons Campground and McNeil Campground, which are also relatively close.
