With well over 3000 feet of climbing, this demanding loop is a serious undertaking for any rider. The endless climb is rewarded, however, by great views, stunning ridgetop singletrack, and one of the highest quality downhill runs in the area. The ride starts with a 9-mile climb up a gravel road to the bottom of Lost Creek Trail. Enjoy the gentle climb on the first half of this 3-mile section of old-growth singletrack, because the final push to the ridge is an endless succession of steep switchbacks. Once you gain the ridge, expect a succession of steep climbs and descents along the appropriately named Sawtooth Trail. There are great views to the south as well as a few glimpses of Lookout Reservoir to the north. Once you hit the Hardesty Trail, it's all downhill back to the trailhead. Watch out for hikers on this section.
