Starting at the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center, the Sitka Nature Trail meanders 1.25 miles through some of the most well-preserved temperate rainforest found anywhere in the United States. Adjacent to the shorter Hall of Mosses Trail, the Sitka Nature Trail offers visitors informative interpretive signs as it winds through massive stands of Sitka spruce and western hemlocks. The forest thins to groves of red alder as you approach the banks of the Hoh River, allowing for clearings and vistas of the Olympic National Park's spectacular "cloud" forest.

Forest Trees + Moss

With roughly 144 inches of rain annually, the temperate rainforest of the Olympic Peninsula is home to some of the largest trees found on our planet and the most diverse and abundant collections of moss anywhere. Click on the following links to learn more about many of these trees and moss.

Hello. I cannot find anywhere else about the Sitka Nature trail. How do we get there? Are there any other sites that have information on this trail? Thanks in advance.
