With over 80 miles of trails, it’s impossible to see all of Forest Park even if you have an entire weekend. The Lower Macleay Trail Loop, however, will give you a great impression of what the nation’s largest city park park has to offer. The Lower Macleay Trail Loop is a combination of interconnected trails that will immerse you in the park’s rich vegetation, far from the clambering of the city below.  Along the way you will walk beside a babbling creek, discover the park’s landmark Stone House, and pass through some of Portland’s finest neighborhoods.

Other easy introductory hikes include the Wild Cherry Trail Loop, the Springville Trail Loop, and the Ridge Trail.
