This 1.4-mile round trip hike just might offer Ashville's closest 360-degree views. The trail is well maintained, includes steps in the steepest portions, and it opens to a grassy meadow with the option to continue a few hundred yards to an upper or lower viewpoint. Both viewpoints offer informational signage and have been built up with natural rock, creating a crow's nest from which to enjoy the views.

The lower trail is surrounded by rhododendrons, while the upper trail features blueberries and mountain laurel, making this a great early summer destination to enjoy the blossoms. Near the top, exceptionally rare and sensitive vegetation has made a home for itself, so it is important to remain on trail at all times. Overall, this is an accessible resource in the Asheville area with incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Parkway.

If you have time for more hiking after the pinnacle, check out nearby Craggy Gardens.
