The north end of Lake Washington offers kayakers a myriad of different parks and shoreline to explore. From Matthews Beach, paddle directly across to Denny Park and continue up the coastline towards Saint Edward State Park. The paddle, while a far stretch from a wilderness experience, offers relative solitude on weekdays. Kayakers get a good view of multi-million dollar houses lining the beaches as well as seaplanes taking off. Ducks, geese and other sea birds can also be seen throughout the paddle. From Saint Edward State Park paddlers can either complete their loop and head back to Matthews Beach or extend the trip by kayaking further north before turning back.
