If camping among quiet redwoods along a serene stretch of tranquil river is what you’re after, then look no further than Redwood Campground in Standish-Hickey State Recreation Area (SRA), the “gateway to the tall trees country." One of three campgrounds within the SRA, Redwood Campground offers campsites nearest to the river under the shade of the coast redwoods. Located across the South Fork of the Eel River from the SRA entrance, this campground is seasonal and only open and accessible for summer after the seasonal driving bridge, the Bailey Bridge, has been installed and approved as passable by the park.

Equipped with 63 sites for cars/tents and RVs up to 16 feet (no hookups), the campground also has showers and restrooms with flush toilets available. Campers will enjoy nearby hiking to see one of the few virgin redwood stands in the area, including the massive Miles Standish Tree, as well the 2 miles of river SRA through the SRA containing some excellent swimming holes to beat the summer heat.

Dogs on leash are permitted within the campground.
